Law Family Weekend

September 24–26, 2026

Family Weekend, held annually between mid-September and early October, invites law parents/partners to reconnect with your law student, meet other Law Cane families, and interact with School of Law faculty and staff while getting a preview of daily life on campus.

In addition to attending engaging programs and activities, you will also have the option to purchase tickets to the Hurricanes football game. 

All activities are optional but to fully engage in all Family Weekend activities, we recommend arriving in Miami on Thursday and departing Miami on Sunday.

    • Law School Student Organization Fair

    6:30 PM - 8:30 PM, Location - TBD

    • Happy Hour with other Law Families

  • Friday, September 25

    3:30 PM 

    • Check-in begins at Law School

    4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

    • Mock classes with Law Professors 

    5:00 PM - 6:00 PM

    • Specific sessions based on your law student's class year

    6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

    • Cocktail reception

  • Saturday, September 26

    Times TBD based on football game time

    • Student Bar Association Tailgate at Hard Rock Stadium
    • University of Miami (UM) vs. Central Michigan University (CMU) Football Game
      (Separately ticketed; purchase link available mid-June)

How to Register

  • Everyone participating in Law Family Weekend must be registered.
  • Law events are free, except for tickets to the UM football game.
  • Registration will close on Friday, September 4 at 5:00 PM ET.

Registration for Family Weekend must be completed online.

Registration will open on June 1st.

Traveling to Campus

To fully engage in all Family Weekend activities, we recommend arriving in Miami on Thursday and departing Miami on Sunday.
