Faculty Jeff Hearne, Jan L. Jacobowitz, and Kele Stewart Present at the ABA Mid-Year Meeting

Jeffrey Hearne,  Director of the Tenants' Rights Clinic, Jan L. Jacobowitz, Lecturer in Law and Director of the Professional Responsibility & Ethics Program, and Kele Stewart,  Clinical Professor and Co-Director of the Children & Youth Law Clinic  presented on the panel, “Ethically Representing Clients with Diminished Capacity for ABA’s Commission on Disability Rights” at the ABA Mid-Year Meeting in Miami. Judge Steven Leifman, Associate Administrative Judge for the Miami-Dade County Court in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, also spoke on the panel.  Jacobowitz also moderated a panel discussion of ethical issues raised in hypotheticals that were created by PREP with input from both Hearne and Stewart. The panelists and the audience engaged in a meaningful dialogue, which provided suggestions for lawyers and communities dealing with people with diminished capacity.
