Professor Bernard Perlmutter, Director of the Children & Youth Law Clinic, delivered a talk at the 33rd International Congress on Law and Mental Health in Amsterdam, on a panel discussing Therapeutic Jurisprudence and the Judicial Process in Cases Involving Children. His talk was titled "More Therapeutic, Less Collaborative? Asserting the Psychotherapist-Patient Privilege on Behalf of Mature Minors." He also spoke on a panel, "The Real Deal: Migration and its Multi-Faceted Challenges," held at Miami-Dade College and co-sponsored by the University of Miami Center for Latin American Studies. His presentation was titled "Organized and Disorganized Activism for Immigrant Children to Effectuate Immigration Reform." At the Children & Youth Law Clinic, Professor Perlmutter teaches and supervises second- and third-year law students who handle cases involving abused, abandoned and neglected children and adolescents in a variety of legal proceedings.
