Derek Jackson is Vice President and General Counsel for the Miami Marlins. His responsibilities include drafting all business and baseball related contracts, overseeing any litigation involving the Club, and providing general legal support for the Club's broadcast, sponsorship, sales and marketing departments. Jackson also handles the Club's salary arbitration cases, many of its stadium-related matters and all other daily legal matters. He previously worked for Major League Baseball in the Office of the Commissioner as Counsel, Labor Relations, where he began his baseball career in September 1999. At Miami Law he teaches Sports Law.
